Support Blog: Will I be double charged each time I file a Confirmation Statement within a 12-month period?

Another query that is frequently raised is how often a Confirmation Statement (formerly Annual Return) can be filed with Companies House and the charges involved…

The annual Confirmation Statement (form CS01) replaced Annual Return in 2016 but serves exactly the same purpose in that rather than re-submitting the same data yearly, one only needs to check that the information currently stored about them is correct and then provide any updates which may be required.  The purpose of this form is to provide up-to-date information on all UK registered companies and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) for inclusion on the public register.

This must be filed with Companies House at least once every 12 months, even if the business is dormant. Failure to file this within 14 days of its due date is a criminal offence.

The filing of a Confirmation Statement is a once a year charge – £13 electronically & £40 for a paper filing. If you choose to file more than one statement within 12 months, you don’t have to pay again.
